Sports & Aquatic Centres

While employed by Spantech Pty Ltd, as Senior Project Manager, Phillip Hawksley was responsible for the autonomous design management and project management of a number of large commercial projects in the sports and aquatics sector.

Kings Sports Centre

Kings Sports Centre was one of the first projects Phillip Hawksley completed for Spantech.

The original project design could not be built for the clients’ budget so Phillip created a redesigned option, while still providing the client with all requirements, and more. He also prepared revised costings within the client’s budget and a contract was entered into, which offered much more than the clients initial expectations.

As design and construction project manager, Phillip completed this project on time and on budget for a very happy client.

Logan West Aquatic
Centre

Logan West Aquatic Centre was a large existing facility, incorporating an indoor lap pool, program pool, gymnasium, group fitness room, child care and extensive amenities, all of which were in need of urgent refurbishment. The existing roof over the pool was badly corroded, due to the harsh aquatic environment, and actually close to collapse with the column bases perforated and some small sections of the roof falling into the pool.

Phillip Hawksley completed an exhaustive dilapidation survey and associated estimates that met the client’s brief.

He then project managed the renovation of this facility, which will now enjoy many more years of operation.

Colmslie Health Club

A design had been prepared for a new Health Club at Colmslie for ‘City Venue Management‘ but it did not comply with the client’s requirements and could not have proceeded in its current form.

When approached, Phillip Hawksley prepared the concept for a relocated and completely alternative design, which was accepted.

Phillip undertook the design management and project management on this new facility, which was completed to the clients’ satisfaction, on time and on budget.
