Sports & Aquatic Centres

While serving as Senior Project Manager at Spantech Pty Ltd, Phillip Hawksley held full responsibility for the design and delivery of multiple large‑scale commercial projects within the sports and aquatics sector. His role encompassed the complete management of the design process, coordination of specialist consultants, and oversight of construction, ensuring projects were delivered to the highest standards of quality, functionality, and architectural integrity.

Kings Sports Centre

Kings Sports Centre was among Phillip Hawksley’s early landmark projects while with Spantech, showcasing his ability to blend creative problem‑solving with strategic project management.

When the original design proved unfeasible within the client’s budget, Phillip developed a refined, innovative redesign that not only met but exceeded all project requirements. He prepared detailed, revised costings that aligned with the client’s financial framework, enabling a contract that delivered significantly greater value than originally anticipated.

In his dual role as design and construction project manager, Phillip ensured the project was delivered with precision, on time, within budget, and to the complete satisfaction of the client, demonstrating a commitment to excellence that continues to define his work.

Logan West Aquatic
Centre

The Logan West Aquatic Centre, a substantial existing facility featuring an indoor lap pool, program pool, gymnasium, group fitness room, childcare facilities, and extensive amenities, required urgent refurbishment due to significant structural deterioration. The pool roof had suffered severe corrosion from the harsh aquatic environment, with column bases compromised and sections of roofing having collapsed into the pool area, posing both safety and operational risks.

Phillip Hawksley conducted a comprehensive dilapidation survey and prepared detailed cost estimates that precisely addressed the client’s brief. Following this, he expertly managed the full-scale renovation of the centre, overseeing every stage of design and construction. The result is a revitalised facility, structurally sound and aesthetically renewed, ensuring many more years of safe, high‑quality operation for the community it serves.

Colmslie Health Club

A proposed design for a new health club at Colmslie, commissioned by City Venue Management, did not meet the client’s requirements in its original form and could not progress.

Upon engagement, Phillip Hawksley developed a fully re‑imagined concept for a relocated facility, delivering a design solution that not only satisfied the client’s brief but enhanced the project’s functionality and appeal.

Phillip assumed full responsibility for design management and project oversight, guiding the project from concept through to completion. The result was a thoughtfully executed facility delivered on time, within budget, and to the complete satisfaction of the client, demonstrating a commitment to bespoke design and precision project delivery.
